The Fun Raiser Schooling Show is a great way to kick off your show season. It is held on the last Saturday of April in the Frontier Park Horse Arena. Proceeds go to the Pierce County 4-H Leaders’ Council. A dog and cat show are also held that day on the fairgrounds.
Classes are offered for nearly all divisions as follows (in this order):
Performance:
- Walk only, walk/trot, and walk/trot/canter equitation classes in all seats.
- Walk only, walk/trot, and walk/trot/canter pleasure classes in all seats.
Western Games:
- Texas Barrel Race
- International Flag Race
- 2 Barrel Flag Race
- Pole Bending
- Figure-8 Race
- Key Race
Patterns & Forms:
Harness Driving:
- Reinsmanship
- Pleasure Driving
In-Hand (open to any size/any Age Horse):
- In Hand Equitation
- In Hand Obstacles
Showmanship:
- Green Horse
- Novice
- Open
Rules:
- Show clothes ae optional. Boots & helmet are required (in showmanship & riding classes.),
- Long sleeves are required in all classes.
- Cross entry between classes is allowed (for example: may enter both walk only and walk/trot)
- WA State and Pierce County horse show rules will apply.
- Volunteer time will be required for all exhibitors.
Age Groups:
Junior (8-10), Intermediate (11-13), Senior (14-18), Adult (19 & over) Note: all ages are as of last October 1st. You do not need to be enrolled in 4-H to participate.
Cost:
1 ticket per class. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 (6 for $50, etc.) Buy your tickets at the show. No refund for unused tickets.
Schedule:
- Office opens at 7 AM
- Exhibitor meeting at 8
- Driving, followed by performance and in-hand start at 8:30
- Showmanship will start no earlier than 11 AM
- Western Games will start no earlier than 12 PM
