Is your 4-H club interested in putting on a workshop or clinic? Or maybe you know of a really great local event that you think the 4-H horse department should approve as an educational workshop or clinic. Here’s what you need to know…
Requirements
- The workshop or clinic must be at least one hour long.
- A Workshop/Clinic Proposal Form must be submitted to the Horse Board at least 6 weeks before the event’s entry deadline.
- The workshop/clinic must be open to all horse project members, although division/skill/age level requirements may be imposed.
- The cost of the event must be reasonable for most 4-Hers. Events that are too expensive will not be approved.
Sponsor’s Duties
- Sign in attendees using the Event Attendance Form at the beginning of the event.
- Sign out attendees using the same form at the end of the event.
- Turn in the attendance form to the Horse Department Points Chairperson within 2 weeks of the event’s completion.
Horse Department Assistance
The Horse Board and the Pierce County 4-H Office can help your club to find a free or inexpensive venue for events. We also offer grants to help with expenses.
