Participating in the 4-H Horse Project is about more than just showing your horse. The Pierce County 4-H Horse Department considers educational activities to be an important part of your 4-H experience. Educational activities teach important life skills and encourage higher level thinking. Therefore, participating in approved educational activities is a requirement if you want to take your horse to fair. It also makes you eligible for our year-end awards. Most of our educational opportunities are also open to Horseless project members. Here’s what you need to know.
Requirements:
- Enter & submit an educational exhibit (usually a poster) for the Pierce County Fair.
- Attend two other Horse Department approved Educational Activities. These must be completed before the July Qualifying Show.
- You must sign in at the beginning of each event and sign out at the end in order to get your credit.
- Click here for a handout to help you understand and keep track of the requirements.
